Day One, return to teaching

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” Goethe

As this day starts my first full week here in the Czech Republic, I wanted to post this quote again. A dear friend I used to work with at the University, with a "great" accent, gave me this while we still worked together and it was an inspiration to me and ultimately gave me the inspiration to move from that University to fulfill my dream of living in Prague in May 2008.

I can once again grab hold of these words, since now there is even more resting on living here then before, as I have sold my house, auto and moved here because of having a job here and not finding back in the states. Plus as you know, I love it here, so it was a no brainer. But I needed to use my brain as well....today

so today, as I begin teaching once again, boldness does have power and it does have magic and I look forward to the magic where ever I may find it. Cheers

Sunday

I spent yesterday walking around Prague once again, seeing the many sights I have seen many times... they never get old to me, in this ancient of old cities. It was much cooler yesterday, only in the 70's, and was a nice respite.

Tomorrow, the 31st I will begin teaching once again with a 10am class at one of the corporations I taught at before. A new group of students but the same corporation. I am looking forward to it.

I move into a flatshare in Kobylisy, Prague 8 tomorrow as well. I lived in Kobylisy for two months, July and August, of last year so I know the area. But it is far from centrum and from the area of Prague I have grown to enjoy, Vinohrady. But the room is one of the least expensive I could find and that will be good for the short term at least.

More to come....

Friday's Sunset

I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dripped it carefully, Aha! I didn't know I held opportunity. - Hazel Lee

Sunset looking toward Prague Castle and Petřin from Riegrovy sady (park) in Vinohrady, Prague 2, my former "home" during Prague Part I.

To start with... Hradčany

Desire Something

Desire something….. If you greatly desire something, have the guts to stake everything on obtaining it. Brendan Francis

Well, I guess I have done it again... desired something.

Hot day yesterday, did alot of walkin', bought my long term Transport pass, opened a new bank account, tested out some Czech Beer, and Just soaked it all ln. Today, will focus mostly on seeking a flatshare, since at the end of tonight(Wednesday) I will not have a place to stay ( but am trying to get my room extended; but Hotel Claris IS booked solid). But I know things will work out.

Am Here once again

I have returned!! I arrived this morning at 6.14am and I have begun living in Prague once Again. Perhaps A better title of this arrival: Living in Prague; Part II. My day today will consist of looking for a flatshare, since the one I had fell through before I left.

This time I have no end date in mind. I will not let the finances of the world, nor old man winter deter me. My plans are to enjoy the Fall here in the Czech Republic, and then to live and thrive through this coming winter; to celebrate the blossoming of the many Cherry trees on Petřin Hill in April, onto May Day and then to enjoy what the summer of 2010 will provide for me.

In the 5 months I have been away, there have been many changes. While I was back home in the states, I saw my son purchase and move into his own house/home; saw my daughter move into a really nice apartment in THE stylish section of Rochester; I sold my home of 14 years, which I loved, & put all my belongings into storage; a big move. I even had a successful showing of many of my Framed Prague Prints at a local café from mid July until this past weekend. And experienced the first sales of my photographs. How cool is that!

Now I am back in Prague and I am looking forward to living here again. So once again, I can really say: scottincz. Since I am here once again. This is the first post of many to come. I hope I can live up to all your nice comments about this blog from: Living in Prague, Part I. Now onto part II and a new journey of the soul. Today I pick up where my blog left off in March.

However, I can say most likely that my blog will not be as before. I will not comment on where my heart goes, if it goes anywhere. I will not write “between the lines” sending “secret” messages through “invisible words” or thoughts to someone, as I did before. I will not write that way again.

Looking back, my blog reflected what my heart was feeling. Not necessarily a bad thing. But feelings and words can cause people to disappear over time. I should not have written as I did, but Alas…. Can’t take it back, nor would I, since it WAS me.

So Here I am in Prague yet again. I never dreamed I would truly return to Prague this year, This Fall! But I am here. To go forward, not backward and I know good things will happen here again! I can’t wait for Life to unfold.

So hold onto your monitor…. Here I go! Part II. Lovin’ it already. Now off for one of those great Czech beers! Day +1, part II.
