This afternoon

Vinohradské vodarná

You have heard me mention Vinohradské vodarná in the past. It is not only a tram stop, but a small portion of Prague identified by its name. This was taken there on a Sunday not long ago. Peaceful. Nothing in sight. This tram stop is only two blocks or so from where I reside. I use it often. Directly behind that tower is a small park, where those flowers you have seen in several past posts (and will see tomorrow) sat waiting to be photographed.

This is a nice cross road within Prague. To the immediate left is a neighborhood library, and Heavily (yes, in Capitals!) used by young people. Just out of sight, to the immediate right, is a another park and playground mostly for small children, where they can ride their tricycles / bicycles in safety.

If you had straight down this street for about 7 blocks, you come to náměstí Miru and the cathedral of Saint Ludmilla. Enjoy your Sunday. Cheers

Old Old Cemetery....

On Saturday, I visited this cemetery I had seen from a tram one day awhile ago. Found it again, in Smichov, Prague 5, not far from Anděl and the Novy Smichov Mall complex, and just one tram stop away, actually.

The name of the cemetery is Malostranském hřbitově. Hřbitově being the Czech word for cemetery. It sits behind a small church which is called: Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice; the Church of the Holy Trinity, between Plzenská and Duškova streets as I said, in Smichov.

This place was visually amazing. It was 90% covered with one particular type of vine. Just about every square meter of the cemetery was exactly as you see in this picture. Green bumps, omnipresent everywhere, as far as you could see, covering all manner of headstones from ancient times, with the tops of headstones popping out of the vines every now and then, here and there. Last Saturday, the sun shone through the heavily wooded tree tops and made spectacular shadows.

Can you imagine what it would be like there on a cold, rainy, October night? Baf* !!
