....On the Blue Steam Train, Albatros
All aboard: Leaving at 10:01, Platform 3.
Todays trip to Křívoklát was on This "Old" Blue 1947 Steam Train, The Albatros (498.022). It takes passengers on special excursions to This castle several times a year. This morning, after it dropped off most all of the passengers in Křívoklát, it continued on to Rakovník to the Train Museum in Luzna. It returned to pick everyone up again at 4:00 and got to Prague's Smichov station at 6:00.
It was filled with Families, excited young ones and many quite loud as well, young people and grandparents, and those who just wanted to experience the sight, sounds and smells of this HUGE steam locomotive and to experience the Castle on this overcast day.
Interestingly, I sat next to 3 men from Bratislava who talked and just drank beer(3 each) the entire way there... and this was at ten in the morning... they told me(in Slovak) they really liked Czech beer(and I understood them). Funny.
