Today was the first wine festival of the season, in Troja, north of Prague. A beautiful sunny day. Troja is home to Prague's award winning Zoo, the Chateau by the same name, a huge public garden and horticultural park and an active vineyard. It is in this vineyard on the side of the hill overlooking the Chateau (zamek) where the vine festival takes place... The star of these festivals is Burčak which I mentioned the other day; a sweet, bubbly, new wine, that tastes of grape juice and club sode but with a small kick. IT is quite delicious and Burčak from each vineyard as well as from each type of grape all taste differently. Well, I had to try them all....
