Fall Like Weekend.... Two Art Galleries: #1

1) The DOX - Center for Contemporary Art: VERY contemporary Art. Think Avant Guard and that is The DOX. Not far from Holešovice Metro station, in Prague 7; it is an inconspicuous building with lots of space within, highlighting very modern thoughts and ideas. Got a couple maps outlining all the Art Galleries in Prague as well.

The Main exposition at The DOX included an exposé on one of Prague's most famous native sons: Jan Kaplický. He was mainly an architect, but his typical creative touch can be seen in many other artistic disciplines. His buildings are definitely outstanding and controversial and ultra-modern, like in science fiction modern; they say he was often inspired by natural forms – cobwebs, butterfly’s wings, or fish scales.

He designed a highly controversial Library for Prague(Above), but it was not approved by Prague's city council due to it's Modern, War of the Worlds like appearance plus UNESCO thought that as well and that it would interfere with the historic nature of Prague. He died in January 2009.
