Today, the last Svařák of the Season.... ??

The 14th of May. A cold day here in Prague. Stopped at "my" café for perhaps the Last bilý Svařák(hot spiced wine for those who might not remember) of this "season". It tasted so good and warded off the chill.

Plus, finished a great Book! "The World Without Us." About what might(will) happen on our planet if we humans suddenly vanished. How the earth might recover from our actions. An ecological treatise on how we have polluted the earth and what the possible ramifications of that are and tying that into how long it might take to restore the earth to its original state.

But more intriguing, is how the author reviews, with here-to-fore little known anecdotes, describing what we have done to the earth over these last 200 years, while bringing in much natural history of the past eons, as well as, creating vivid pictures of the pollution we have generated, coupled with mental images of the real consequences of our actions.

A thoughtful, apolitical, non-hysterical book on the ecological nightmare we have created. It was entertaining, eye-opening and keep my interest and was thought provoking to be sure.
