Hanavsky Pavilion in Letna Park
Letenské Park (Letna Park) is on the steep Plateau which rises above the Vltava River across from Old Town on the Hradčany(the Castle) side of the river.
If you enter Letenské park through its western entrance where you will notice a gorgeous gem of a building, the Hanavsky Pavilion, a cast-iron structure built in 1891 in Neo-Baroque style for the Jubilee Worlds Fair. Its restaurant, with its large cupola rising skyward like a large Fabergé egg, is a nice place to stop for cappuccino on a Spring day . From here, you can look out over the city and down the Vltava river at its bridges, as well as over to the Castle.
Its close proximity to the castle makes it a pleasant diversion on the way to Hradčany on a Spring day, or any day.
