Two Peeing Men - David Černy again

Yes "Two Peeing Men", the title. Local Prague artist David Černy created this Bronze sculpture in 2004; of Two Guys peeing into a pool shaped identically in the shape of the borders of the Czech Republic.

As I have said earlier, Mr. Černy is a very controversial artist(...wait until you see some of his other works...forthcoming on this blog), but I would say very lucky as he has an extensive collection of his works scattered all over Prague even when they may not be flattering to this country.

This sculpture is located in Mala strana, in front of the Kafka Museum, very near to the banks of the Vltava. I sat by it the other day for quite awhile and the looks and smiles from the hundreds of tourists that stopped to take a look was enlightening.

Even children played in the pool, trying to grab coins from the water and of course, also trying to stop the flow of the water from the two… well you know. It was funny actually.

ah, yes... Only in Europe or perhaps ONLY here in the Czech Republic, where sensibilities are hard to offend. Most of the people just laughed as their eyes first lite upon this sculpture, and its moving parts, but some were, should we say, aghast.

and you can actually SMS(text) a phone number and The Guys will "pee-write" your sms message in the pool. How's that?

I mean really...could you ask for anything more!!
