Strašnice Wine Tasting, Prague 10

Was invited by a friend to attend a 14th annual "neighborhood" Wine tasting in Prague 10; a part of Prague called Strašnice. I had never been in this part of Prague before. A nice city residential area.

It was held in a place called the Cultural House (Kulturní dům) not too far from the Strašnická Metro station on line A. Like a town hall type building where people gather for various community or neighborhood events. This was quite something with a great turn-out. All the wines were from Moravia, the southern wine growing region of the Czech Republic, south of Brno for the most part, near Austria.

There were 27 Varietals of grapes represented, most of which I had never heard of before coming to Prague, bottled in 235 different wines to sample, which were produced by 87 different Moravian vineyards.

Of the 235 different wines, I tried 26...in 3 hours. Not bad I guess. Good pacing I thought. (Small glass as you can see above)

Live Cultural folkdance music was performed as a background. Enjoyable and really nice to experience this today.
