The Hvězda Summer Pavilion
Beautiful afternoon. Took Tram #22 out of Prague for about 30 minutes to this ancient Renaissance Chateau. Built in 1555 and built in the shape of a 6 pointed star. Ferdinand Tyrolsky, vice regent for the Czech lands from 1547-1567, built this "castle" for his future wife, ah, but alas, she married someone else secretly. Yes a one sided love affair. It was never used for its intended purpose and went unoccupied as a residence. It was used primarily for entertainment, hunting and ball type games.
It is situated northwest of Prague in a park like setting which is literally a large forest with a myriad of geometrical paths for walking. Upon entering the main gate(top photo), one can hardly see the Pavilion in the distance. Quite a walk, but nice and pathways and forest are lovely and so quiet, except for the birds. I can imagine it is even more magestic once all the leaves come out.
