Burčak - A Vinobrani's Main event

Burčak - New wine. Sweet, bubbly, tasting of grape juice but with a kick. It is actually partially fermented young wine with an alcohol content of between 5 and 8%. This stuff is a Czech invention I am told. Found mostly in the Czech Republic. It is really great. It is found at all festivals in September but then vanishes.

It comes in Grape colored(purple), a light red and s white version or one could say, cream colored. Each vineyard makes its own and each tastes different, some sweeter than others, and some almost tasting like a real wine, but again, sweet and effervescent. The red ones are somewhat rare. Most vineyards make only the white version.

Burčák is derived from fermenting grape juice, known as must, shortly after the grapes have been crushed. At a point determined by the winegrower, the must is deemed worthy of consumption and a part of it is sold as burčák. The rest is allowed to mature into adult wine.

...and it is good for you, according to everyone who loves it: Burčák is rich in vitamins, particularly Vitamin B, and certain essential minerals.
